For the sweetest souls in my life, I'll stop drinking on my own

I've been sitting drinking on my own
I heard my loneliness being manifested in my somber tones
I was sitting dreaming of a place
Where freedom is the only way and you'll never fall from grace
I was thinking there could be much more
I've had madness kick my head in and batter down my door
I was sitting dreaming of your face
I promise I'll look after you until my dying day

I was sitting drinking on my own

When you smile, with you I'll smile
When you cry, with you I'll cry
In the end, after we've tried
We'll always hold our heads up high

While you're still here and I'm still here
I'll give you everything my dears
You have my heart, you have my soul
I guess I best stop drinking on my own

I found help when it seemed that help was gone
Helplessly I dug my claws in to the cracks of memories fond
Hoping for some force to intervene
I've heard of intravenous substitutes that make your life a dream
Stranded in my melancholy ways
Every day I looked through eyes that were foggied by the haze
That's until the day you come along
Now I see things clearly and I know where I belong

I was sitting drinking on my own
